It takes a time period of around four hours for the contact lenses to be properly sterilized. Most people keep their contact lenses to be sterilized before going to sleep at night. This process also helps in removing the proteins that get deposited on the surface of the contact lenses.

For people wearing contact lenses for the first time, it is very difficult to find out the correct side of the lenses. This can be done by placing the contact lenses on one finger and letting it face upwards. Then hold the contact lens in front of you. If the shape of the contact lenses is like that of a ‘U’, it means that the contact lenses have been kept in the proper manner and they can be worn inside the eyes.
